Vehicue stores information needed to provide accounts, vehicle tools, and approved repair-shop communication. Shops cannot find or unlock customer accounts by entering a VIN. A customer must enter a temporary service code and approve access.
Account information
If you create an account, Vehicue uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore to store your name, email address, account type, verification status, and a unique account identifier. Verified repair-shop profiles may also include the business and service-advisor names.
Vehicle and service information
Information you provide may include vehicle details, VIN or VIN ending, mileage, symptoms, diagnostic codes, maintenance history, repair findings, estimates, messages, service status, final cost, and warranty information. Signed-in users may synchronize garage, diagnostic, and service-history information with their account.
Repair-shop access
A participating shop can create a temporary request for a vehicle. The request does not reveal the vehicle owner. A signed-in customer must enter the temporary code and explicitly approve the request. Approved shops can access only information associated with that service visit and the permissions shown to the customer. Messaging and access end when the visit closes or access is revoked.
Location
Location access is optional. Vehicue may use a city, ZIP code, or one-time device location to open nearby-service searches. Vehicue does not continuously track location.
External services
- Firebase provides authentication and cloud database services.
- VIN and recall requests send relevant vehicle details to U.S. NHTSA services.
- Opening parts, video, map, or nearby-service results sends visible search terms or location to the selected external service.
- Those services control their own privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
Local preferences remain on the device until browser or app storage is cleared. Signed-in users can permanently delete their account from the account panel. Deletion removes the Firebase login, cloud profile, synchronized vehicle history, service requests, and associated messages, and clears Vehicue data stored on that device. This action cannot be undone.
Security
Vehicue uses authenticated access and Firebase security rules to limit account and service records to authorized participants. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
Vehicue is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for vehicle owners, drivers, and repair professionals.
